Bahareh Shahrabi Farahani is a candidate in the Master of Fine Art program at the University of Nevada, Reno. She is the recipient of the Lucy Neider scholarship. She earned her Bachelor in Art in Visual Art with minors in interior design, photography, book illustration and an Advanced Degree in Persian calligraphy in her country of origin, Iran. Farahani is currently interested in painting, printing on fabric and installation art. Farahani has exhibited her works in solo, group and juried exhibitions throughout Iran, the Middle East and the United States.
I was very curious about your statement in your presentation - when you talked about, in your country, you could just be an artist, however here, you felt like you have to make work about being a woman from the Middle East. This would be interesting to talk about more.
